SOLAR ENERGY (UPDATE)

We recently advised that we are proposing to install solar panels and battery storage to the clubhouse and are now delighted to say that we have  obtained 80% funding for this from the Scottish Government's Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES), through  Local Energy Scotland.  This will enable us to considerably reduce our electricity bills  and, together with the feeding of surplus power into the national grid, will make a substantial contribution to country's carbon net  zero aim.  Approval  has  been obtained from the Distribution Network Operator to make a grid connection and Building Regulations approval is currently being sought. MRG Electrical Services Ltd, Ellon, have been appointed to carry out the installation work and subject to Building Control approval, they plan to carry out the work beginning on 6 October 2025.

LATEST UPDATE

Unfortunately, the solar works have not yet started. The Building Warrant Application has been submitted to Aberdeenshire Council and their approval is still awaited. We hope this will be forthcoming in the next few weeks, so that the work can proceed.
